As the Industry Skills Council responsible for government and community safety, Government Skills Australia (GSA) monitors factors that shape workforce development and associated training imperatives in the correctional services, local government, public safety, public sector and water industries.

This Environmental Scan presents a range of current issues within the GSA scope of operations and explores relevant emerging trends which will underpin GSA planning and decision making.  

GSA is required to produce an annual Environmental Scan for use by Skills Australia, the National Quality Council and the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR).
