NSW RPL resources project
The NSW Public Sector Industry Training Advisory Body (ITAB) is developing some new Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) resources that may be used by RTOs to assess 6 core units in Local Government qualifications. While the Guides are targeted to Certificate IV level, they may be customised and adapted by RTOs to suit a range of qualifications from Certificate II to Diploma.

The resources are based on a group recognition approach to assessment and information guides have been written for assessors, employers and participants (candidates).

The 6 core units included in the resources are:

  • LGACORE102B: Follow defined OHS policies and procedures
  • LGACORE103B: Provide service to local government
  • LGACORE104B: Work effectively in local government
  • LGACORE105B: Work with others in local government
  • LGACOMP024A: Develop community relations
  • LGACOMP026A: Provide team leadership

The project is funded by the NSW DET-COAG Program and the resources will be available at no cost to RTOs from September 2009 at www.skillsonline.net.au
