GSA released its 2009 Environmental Scan for the government and community safety industries earlier this month. The scan aims to predict trends and skill needs in the Correctional Services, Local Government, Public Sector, Public Safety and Water industries to better enable the Vocational Education and Training (VET) system to respond with speedy, practical solutions. This year’s scan outlines the skill requirements in each industry environment and notes changes in legislation and standards and in job roles and skills shortages in those industries.

GSA would like to acknowledge the valuable contribution of industry in the development process and thank all those individuals who took part in industry specific surveys and contributed valuable information that secured the success of the project.
