Abstract
The Government and Community Safety Industry Skills Report considers the five industry sectors of public sector, local government, public safety, correctional services and water industry. The report profiles employment and training (including Training Packages and Australian Apprenticeships) within the industry, before examining the issues and implications arising from four major drivers of industry skill needs. These drivers are participation (including the influence of demographic change), technological advancement, market pressures and regulatory compliance. The report proposes a range of strategies for addressing industry skills needs with a focus on skills formation and workforce development.
