e-learningTwo businesses from the government and community safety sector, the Department of Health and Human Services Tasmania and the NSW Department of Lands have been selected to develop industry e-learning demonstrations with funding of upto $25 000 each through the Industry Engagement Project of the Australian Flexible Learning Framework.

The Australian Flexible Learning Framework is the national training system’s e-learning strategy, collaboratively funded by the Australian Government and all states and territories at $15 million annually. Since 2000, the Framework has provided the vocational training and education (VET) system with e-learning skills, professional development, resources and support networks to strengthen the skills base of Australia.

The Industry Engagement Project is one of 14 Framework projects. It aims to increase the industry use of e-learning in workplaces by demonstrating the flexibility of e-learning to respond to and deliver on industry's workforce development needs. The project is industry led, with industry representatives developing specific e-learning demonstrations and mentoring other businesses to introduce e-learning. Through these business examples of e-learning, industry and individual businesses are encouraged to adopt e-learning models in their environments.
