Launch of the National Correctional Services Excellence in Assessment Award
It is with a great deal of pleasure that I would like to launch the National Correctional Services Excellence in Assessment Award and open the award for nominations.
The National Correctional Services Excellence in Assessment Award aims :
-To recognise outstanding performance in workplace assessment practice within a correctional environment including:
Custodial corrections
Community corrections
-To recognise and showcase innovative learning and assessment strategies/programs which utilise units of competency/qualifications from the Correctional Services Training Package to develop their workforce
-To contribute to the Correctional Services industry in promotion and support of it as a profession
The National Correctional Services Excellence in Assessment Award provides an opportunity to recognise members of your organisation for their contributions and professionalism and I would ask you to distribute the information widely and encourage interested persons to nominate either themselves or other relevant people. Attached is an example of how Brush Farm Academy (BFCSA) are looking to encourage their staff to participate in the award and link the participation to organisational aims.
The instigation of The National Correctional Services Excellence in Assessment Award is an example of how Correctional Services can collaborate for the benefit of the industry as a whole, so let's get behind the initiative with our support and encourage people to participate.
Nominations are now open and can be submitted until 31.5.09. Completed nominations are to be sent in the first instance to the relevant representative on the Correctional Services Industry Advisory Committee (CSIAC).
