There are 75 qualifications within the Public Safety Training Package spread over the Public Safety Industry covering:
Industry-wide
Defence
Fire
Police
State and Territory Emergency Services
In structuring qualifications the approach has been to identify core units of competency that are essential to achieving the qualification and to identify elective units of competency that provide choice and flexibility.
Units of competency have been packaged and aligned to a specific qualification within the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) to establish the qualification level and title.
Under the agreed arrangements of the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) and the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) only Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) can issue Public Safety Qualifications.
