The Water Training Package has completed its review. NWP07 was endorsed in October 2007. Check the new Water Training Package.
The Training Package will now be the subject of a continuous review process and already some aspects of the competencies and qualifications have been the subject of re-development projects. These include:
The development of a qualification for remote essential services. This qualification was previously imported from the Electrotechnology Training Package, but the 2006 review of this Training Package has resulted in a removal of the water operations component of the qualification. This project expects to complete the new qualification by March 2008.

Review of the Certificate IV in Water Operations, including the hydrology and trade waste units of competency. The review of this qualification will identify and develop competencies for technical specialisations. This project will be completed in March 2008. As a result of feedback from the Trade Waste Training Group, the unit NWP219A Work safely in confined spaces will be included in the elective units for all certificates.
