GSA Directors

The Directors of GSA are the nominees of the key peak bodies with a direct interest in the work of GSA and its projects and services. The Directors reflect the Vocational Education and Training needs of the Correctional Services, Local Government, Public Safety, Public Sector and Water industries.

 


 

Jan Andrews

Jan Andrews has been a Board member since the establishment of GSA in 2005. Jan has had a public sector career working in several states. She is currently the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the South Australian Department of Education and Children's Services.

 

Peter Bernich

Peter Bernich joined the Board in 2006 and is the Company Secretary. Peter is the Capability Development Manager in SA Water and is a Board member of the Electrical, Electro technology, Energy & Water Skills Board (SA) Inc. 

 

David Carey

David Carey has been a Board Member since the establishment of GSA in 2005 and is currently  the Chairperson of the Board. David is a Joint National Secretary of the Community and Public Sector Union, Federal Secretary of the State Public Services Federation and a Member of the ACTU Executive. 

 

John Harris

John Harris has been a Board Member since the establishment of GSA in 2005. John is the Treatment Operations Manager for Wannon Regional Water Corporation in Victoria.

 

Dr Brian Jardine

Dr Brian Jardine has been a Board Member since 2006. Dr Jardine is retired as Joint National Secretary of the Community and Public Sector Union. 

 

Sandra Lunardi

Sandra Lunardi joined the board of GSA in 2009. She is the Learning and Development Manager for the Australasian Fire and Emergency Service Authorities Council. 

 

Greg McLean

Greg McLean has been a member of the Board since 2006. He is a member of the EEOZ Industry Skills Council, a member of the Cultural Industry Committee in the IBSA Skills Council, and a member of the Sport and Recreation Advisory Committee of Service Skills Australia. Greg is also the Assistant Secretary for the Australian Services Union. 

 

  Jo Quigley

Jo Quigley joined the Board in 2010. She is currently A/Assistant Commissioner Probity, Staff Development and Safety for Corrective Services NSW and former chair of the national Corrections Industry Advisory Committee. She is nominated as the employer representative for the Corrections Industry.

 

Maire Sheehan

Maire Sheehan has been a Board Member since the establishment of GSA in 2005 and is currently the Deputy Chairperson. Maire is the former Mayor of Leichhardt and  currently works in a senior capacity for TAFE NSW.

 

Gabrielle Dorward

Gabrielle Dorward joined the Board in 2010. She has had over 25 years experience4 working with industry to design VET training arrangements at a state, national and international level. Gabrielle is currently employed by the Local Government Association of Queensland to address issues of skill and labour shortages. She is the employer representative for the Local Government Sector. 

Troy Wright

Troy Wright has been a Board member since December 2010.  He is currently employed as an Industrial Officer with the Community and Public Sector Union (CPSU), State Public Services Federation (SPSF) Group, the major industrial organisation in the corrections sector across Australia.  He was previously been employed by Corrective Services NSW for thirteen years in a number of roles and locations including as a parole officer at Long Bay Correctional Centre, and as the Department’s representative on the State Parole Authority.  He is nominated as the employee representative for Correctional Services.
